Elements and Performance Criteria

  1. Prepare to refurbish LPG cylinders
  2. Work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS), environmental and sustainable energy measures and workplace policies and procedures for the work are obtained and applied
  3. Relevant person/s are consulted to ensure the work is coordinated effectively and recommendations to assist with the refurbishing of gas cylinders are made to others involved in the work in accordance with workplace procedures
  4. Hazards are identified, WHS/OHS risks assessed and control measures prioritised, implemented and monitored in accordance with workplace procedures
  5. Materials, tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) required for the work are obtained and checked for correct operation and safety in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturer instructions
  6. Responsibilities for incidents, emergencies and other related work safety procedures at the work site are confirmed with relevant person/s to ensure safety measures are followed
  7. Client issues are referred to relevant person/s in accordance with industry and community standards and workplace procedures
  8. Work site is prepared in accordance with job instructions, work schedule and workplace procedures to minimise risk and damage to property, commerce and individuals
  9. Inspect and refurbish LPG cylinders
  10. Hazardous activities associated with inspecting and refurbishing LPG cylinders are conducted in accordance with job instructions, safety requirements and workplace procedures
  11. Refurbishing of gas cylinders is carried out in accordance with job instructions, industry standards, regulations and workplace procedures
  12. Hazard warnings and safety signs are recognised, hazards assessed and WHS/OHS risks reported to authorised person/s for directions in accordance with workplace procedures
  13. Cylinders that are damaged or do not comply to industry and safety standards are coded and condemned in accordance with workplace procedures
  14. Unplanned events are referred to authorised person/s for directions in accordance with workplace procedures
  15. Problems associated with the refurbishing of gas cylinders are resolved by using problem-solving techniques in accordance with workplace procedures industry standards and regulations
  16. Quality and safety checks of the work are undertaken in accordance with job instructions, industry standards and workplace procedures
  17. Complete work and relevant documentation
  18. Accidents and incidents are actioned as required and reported to authorised persons in accordance with workplace procedures
  19. Work site is cleaned up and made safe in accordance with job instructions and workplace procedures
  20. Tools, equipment and any surplus resources and materials are cleaned, checked and returned to storage in accordance with workplace procedures
  21. Inspection results and completion processes are undertaken in accordance with workplace procedures
  22. Work completion records, report forms and data sheets are completed accurately in accordance with job instructions and workplace procedures
